About Mahi

Mahi Singh Walia is an Indian-Canadian author born in Patiala, Punjab, India, and now based in Canada. Writing under the pen name Mahi Ahluwalia, he is a Gold Medal graduate of Punjabi University with a background in journalism — a foundation that gave him both a sharp eye for truth and a deep respect for the stories people carry in silence.

His fiction moves across fantasy, crime, and literary fiction, but the terrain beneath is always the same: emotions and the secrets we bury within them, the relationships that define and undo us, karmic cycles, spirituality, and the quiet, unseen forces that shape a human life from the inside out.

His debut novel, Butahri: The Nation Awaits Its Wizard King, announced a storytelling voice that was at once culturally rooted and expansive in its ambitions. His second novel, Perfect Paramour, deepened that voice — intimate, layered, and emotionally precise.

He is currently at work on his third novel, Till the Circle Ends — an upmarket literary suspense with spiritual-philosophical undertones, in which one woman's search for truth pulls her across two worlds and forces her to confront everything she thought she understood about love, loss, and the lives we cannot return to.
